Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. The evening will include a brief orientation about the trek, including an overview of the itinerary, safety measures, and necessary preparations.
Day 2: Kathmandu – Orientation and Shopping
You will attend a detailed trek briefing with your guide, followed by a visit to the local markets to purchase any last-minute trekking gear and essentials. Explore Kathmandu’s vibrant streets, rich in culture and history, before embarking on your trek.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Machhakhola
Embark on a scenic 8-9 hour drive through the picturesque hills, rivers, and terraced farmlands to reach Machhakhola, the starting point of the trek. The drive offers a fantastic introduction to the natural beauty of Nepal.
Day 4: Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat
Today, your trek begins along the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through charming waterfalls and small settlements. You will hike for about 6-7 hours to reach Jagat, at an elevation of 1,410 meters.
Day 5: Trek from Jagat to Deng
Enter the Manaslu Conservation Area as you trek through dense forests and stone-paved paths. The journey will take approximately 6-7 hours, bringing you to Deng at an elevation of 1,804 meters.
Day 6: Trek from Deng to Namrung
Ascend through lush rhododendron forests and cross suspension bridges on this 6-7 hour trek to Namrung, situated at 2,630 meters. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 7: Trek from Namrung to Samagaon
Continue your trek through traditional villages, offering spectacular views of Mount Manaslu and its neighboring peaks. The trek duration is 6-7 hours, bringing you to Samagaon at an altitude of 3,530 meters.
Day 8: Acclimatization Day at Samagaon
To help your body adjust to the higher altitude, you’ll take an acclimatization day in Samagaon. You can explore Pungyen Gompa or take a hike to Manaslu Base Camp for a stunning close-up view of the mountain.
Day 9: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo
Follow the glacial valley to Samdo, a picturesque Tibetan-influenced village. This 4-5 hour trek will bring you to an elevation of 3,860 meters, surrounded by high Himalayan peaks.
Day 10: Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala
Ascend towards Dharamsala (also known as Larkya Phedi), the base camp for crossing Larkya Pass. The trek lasts 4-5 hours and reaches an elevation of 4,460 meters.
Day 11: Cross Larkya Pass and Trek to Bimthang
The highlight of this day is crossing the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,106 meters). The 8-10 hour trek includes spectacular panoramic views of Himlung, Cheo, and Annapurna II. After crossing the pass, descend to Bimthang at 3,720 meters.
Day 12: Trek from Bimthang to Gho
Descend through lush forests, enjoying views of Mount Manaslu from a different perspective. The trek duration is 5-6 hours, with a final elevation of 2,515 meters.
Day 13: Trek from Gho to Tilije
Continuing along the Marsyangdi River, you’ll trek for 5-6 hours through picturesque villages before reaching Tilije at an altitude of 2,300 meters.
Day 14: Trek from Tilije to Koto (Manang)
Today’s trek brings you closer to the heart of the Annapurna Circuit. Expect a 5-6 hour walk to Koto, a gateway to the Manang Valley.
Day 15: Trek from Koto to Meta
Continue the journey with a 5-6 hour trek to Meta, where you’ll experience Tibetan culture and scenery as you pass through small villages.
Day 16: Trek from Meta to Phu Gaon
Your trek today will last about 5-6 hours, taking you to Phu Gaon, a remote village that offers a truly off-the-beaten-path experience.
Day 17: Trek from Phu to Himlung Base Camp and Return to Phu
Today’s highlight is reaching Himlung Base Camp, located at an altitude of around 4,800 meters. After spending some time at the base camp, you will return to Phu. This will be a long, rewarding day of trekking.
Day 18: Trek from Phu to Naar Phedi
Leave Phu behind and trek for 5-6 hours, reaching Naar Phedi, the base for the final stretch to Naar village.
Day 19: Trek from Naar Phedi to Nar
Today, trek from Naar Phedi to Nar, a beautiful village at 4,150 meters, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 20: Rest Day in Nar
Take a well-deserved rest day in Nar to acclimatize and explore the local culture. You can visit nearby monasteries or take short walks around the village.
Day 21: Trek from Nar to Nawal
Today, trek from Nar to Nawal, passing through high-altitude terrain and Tibetan villages. Expect a 5-6 hour trek to Nawal, which sits at an elevation of about 3,650 meters.
Day 22: Trek from Nawal to Manang (Half Day)
Trek for half a day, reaching the village of Manang. This is a popular stop for trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit and offers comfortable accommodations and great views.
Day 23: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka
After a restful stop in Manang, continue your journey towards Yak Kharka, where you’ll trek for 5-6 hours, reaching an elevation of 4,000 meters.
Day 24: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong High Camp
Ascend gradually towards Thorong High Camp, the base camp for crossing the famous Thorong La Pass. Expect a 5-6 hour trek to reach the high camp at 4,850 meters.
Day 25: Cross Thorong La Pass and Trek to Muktinath or Jomsom
Crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters), one of the highest trekking passes in the world, is a monumental achievement. Afterward, descend to either Muktinath or Jomsom, depending on your itinerary, for a 7-9 hour trek.
Day 26: Drive to Jomsom and Flight to Pokhara
Take a scenic drive to Jomsom and then catch a flight to Pokhara. Explore Pokhara, known for its serene lakes and stunning mountain views.
Day 27: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu for the final leg of your journey. Enjoy your last day in Nepal with some sightseeing or shopping in the city.
Day 28: Final Departure
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your unforgettable trekking adventure in the Nepal Himalayas.
